Woman with stomach discomfort.

Restoring balance.
Supporting your body’s natural ability to heal.

When something hurts — or just doesn’t feel right — the answer isn’t always where the pain is. That’s the heart of osteopathy, and it’s what Lynn Duncan-Smith has been helping her clients discover for over a decade.

Osteopathy is grounded in the understanding that the body’s structure and function are closely connected. When the body is in proper alignment, it is better able to regulate and heal itself. Our osteopathic assessments and treatments identify and address areas of tension, restriction, or imbalance that may be affecting your health.

As a certified manual osteopathic practitioner and registered massage therapist, Lynn brings over 25 years of hands-on experience to her practice. Whether you’re dealing with chronic pain or dysfunction that you have not found a solution for, you’re in good hands here.

What Is Osteopathy?

Osteopathy is a form of manual therapy built on a simple but profound idea: everything in your body is connected. Your shoulder pain might be coming from your hip. Your back ache might trace back to old scar tissue from an appendectomy. Your tingling fingers might actually originate in a nerve pathway affected by tight fascia near your ribs.

The goal of a osteopathic manual practitioner is to find those connections – and help.

At Aurora Osteopathy, Lynn works with the whole you. That means she's not just treating the spot that hurts. She's looking at the full picture — your structure, your organs, your nervous system, your history — and gently working to restore balance throughout.

Who Can Osteopathy Help?

Honestly? Almost anyone who isn’t in need of acute care. Osteopathy is particularly effective for:

Lynn sees everyone from newborns to people in their 90s, including performance athletes, people recovering from accidents, kids with sensory sensitivities and autism, and anyone who has yet to find a solution for their dysfunction.

A Friendly Approach from an Experienced Manual Therapist

Experience That Goes Deeper

Lynn became a Registered Massage Therapist in 2000. She then returned to school thirteen years later to become an Osteopathic Manual Practitioner, completing her Master of Osteopathic Manipulative Sciences (M.OMSc) in 2017.

This combination gives her a thorough understanding of the body’s tissues. Lynn continues to take advanced courses regularly.

A Quiet, Safe Space

Lynn’s approach is precise and surprisingly subtle; and, the results speak for themselves. Aurora Osteopathy is a peaceful space, as healing happens best when you feel safe, relaxed, and supported.

Meet Lynn Duncan-Smith,
M.OMSc RMT

An Experienced Manual Osteopathic Practitioner with 25+ Years of Hands-On Care

Lynn has been a manual therapist since 2000, graduating from the Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy in Newmarket, Ontario. Years of working as an RMT left her curious about what lay beyond the muscles and joints — the deeper relationships that massage couldn’t quite reach. That curiosity led her back to school, and in 2017 she graduated from the Canadian Academy of Osteopathy in Hamilton with her M.OMSc.

She holds memberships in good standing with Ontario Association of Osteopathic Manual Practitioners (OAO) and the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario (CMTO), and continues to advance her training in craniosacral therapy, visceral manipulation, neuromanipulation, and pediatric care.

Lynn’s core values are simple: solutions, care, and homework. She’ll find the answers, give you her full attention, and equip you with what you need to support your own progress between sessions.

Sessions are available in 30, 45, and 60-minute appointments.

30 minutes — For returning patients only; choose this for follow-up treatments

45 minutes — For initial appointments or more complex follow-up treatments

60 minutes — Required for Craniosacral or Somato Emotional Release; discuss with Lynn before booking

Lynn can be reached by calling or texting 905-717-1128 or at lynn@auroraosteopathy.ca

FAQ

Is osteopathy covered by insurance?

Osteopathy is covered by most extended health care plans. Please check with your provider to confirm coverage.

Generally, no. Osteopathic treatment is typically gentle and pain-free. You may feel some mild soreness afterward as your body integrates the work, but the sessions themselves are not uncomfortable. Lynn checks in throughout to make sure you’re comfortable.

It depends on what’s going on. Some people notice significant changes after just one or two visits. Others come regularly for maintenance —typically once a month, once things are stable. Lynn will give you an honest assessment of what to expect for your specific situation.
